Festival Program
The program of Rolling Film Festival #8 is designed as a focused three-day experience centered on cinema, exchange, and shared perspectives. Through screenings, workshops, and encounters with international guests, the festival creates a space where stories are explored collectively and connections are formed across cultures.
Film Screenings
At the heart of the festival is a curated selection of films from around the world alongside locally produced works. The program includes documentaries, fiction, animation, and short films that reflect the diversity, cultural richness, and shared humanity of Roma stories.
Each screening is an invitation to reflect, question, and connect, often followed by discussions and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, including participating guests from the UK.
Workshops
Workshops are another integral part of the festival, creating space for learning, creativity, and exchange. Designed for emerging filmmakers, young participants, these sessions focus on developing filmmaking skills, sharing knowledge, and encouraging new forms of storytelling.
The festival brings together filmmakers, artists, and cultural professionals from different countries, creating a meeting point between local and international perspectives.
Among this year’s guests are filmmakers from the UK, representatives from the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture, and contributors connected to the Critical Film and Image Hub at Heidelberg University.
