About Rolling Film Festival

The Rolling Film Festival was founded in 2009 as a platform where cinema opens dialogue, challenges perceptions, and brings communities closer together. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most important cultural platforms in Kosovo dedicated to Roma storytelling and representation.

The festival showcases films by and about Roma communities from around the world, alongside locally produced works. Through carefully curated programs, it highlights the richness, diversity, and shared humanity of Roma stories—offering perspectives that are often underrepresented in mainstream cinema.

More than a festival, it is a meeting point: between filmmakers and audiences, local and international voices, and personal stories and collective realities.

Since its first edition in 2009, the Rolling Film Festival has steadily developed into a significant cultural platform in Kosovo and beyond. Over the years, it has screened more than 550 films, supported the emergence of young filmmakers, and created spaces for dialogue through workshops, discussions, and community engagement.

The festival’s growth reflects a long-term commitment to visibility, inclusion, and the power of storytelling. Through continuous collaboration with artists, cultural professionals, and partners across Europe, it has built a strong international network and established itself as a recognized reference point for Roma cinema and cultural exchange.

What began as a local initiative has evolved into an international platform that contributes to a broader cultural movement—placing Roma stories at the center of public discourse and fostering meaningful connections between communities.
