Workshop
Youth Film Workshop with Faton Mustafa
As part of the Rolling Film Festival educational programme, filmmaker Faton Mustafa from Kosovo led a two-day filmmaking workshop with a group of ten young Roma participants, including both girls and boys.
The workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of filmmaking, including storytelling, script development, camera work, directing, and teamwork. Through a hands-on approach, the young participants were encouraged to express their ideas, experiences, and creativity through the language of film.
Working collaboratively under the guidance of Faton Mustafa, the participants developed, filmed, and edited two short films over the course of the workshop. The process allowed them to gain practical skills while exploring issues and stories that matter to them.
The workshop concluded with the completion of two short films, which will be presented during the Rolling Film Festival, offering the young filmmakers an opportunity to share their work with festival audiences and celebrate their achievements.
The initiative reflects the festival's ongoing commitment to supporting Roma youth, fostering creative expression, and encouraging new generations of storytellers to engage with cinema as a tool for dialogue, representation, and social change.
